Service Description
Companion Building Projects is a hands-on four-week course where students learn real woodworking and construction skills while helping build something that will actually be used inside Companion Skatepark. For Build #1, students will work together to build an 8-foot slappy stick from start to finish. Along the way, they’ll learn about measuring, layout, safe tool use, materials, basic construction techniques, teamwork, problem-solving, and how skate obstacles are designed and built. This is not just a craft project. Students will be contributing to a real feature for the skatepark, giving them the chance to see their work become part of the space they skate in. The course is designed for ages 10 and up. No prior woodworking or construction experience is required. Students will be supervised throughout the process, and the goal is to make the experience safe, practical, and fun while building confidence and useful hands-on skills. The $100 registration covers all four Saturday sessions and project materials. Course dates: September 26 October 3 October 10 October 17 Time: 10:00 AM–12:00 PM Limited to 10 students
